Choosing a Form ~ Part Two
“EMMY!” the scream tore at her throat as she watched in horror from the observation deck with their other siblings as her other half writhed on the floor and screamed in pain. The doctors had sprung into action at the first sign he was struggling with the process.
Everything had worked perfectly for their older siblings so there was nothing wrong with the machines that would be causing such a distressing reaction.
The medical and scientific jargon flew over her head as she stood in the middle of a white lab coat whirlwind. Out of the corner of her eyes she could see her brothers watching in wide eyed horror as well, and her only
He left for work that morning,
When everything changed without warning.
You were so focused on your phone,
It seemed that in the world you were alone.
Never noticing your wheel was turning.
He tried to get your attention,
But you showed no comprehension.
Rubber screeched on the ground,
But no space was to be found.
Metal on metal caused contention.
Your phone was gone when you awoke;
I really hope that it broke.
Smoke filled your nose and your eyes,
Blocking out the red hued skies.
You coughed and started to choke.
But your hero saved the day!
With jaws of life you were whisked away!
Blankets piled around your body,
Then things became a li
“I wore high heels today!” My grin threatened to split my cheeks. Even though my mom couldn’t see it through the phone I couldn’t help it.
“Oh, that’s nice hun.”
My smile dialed down a few watts. Maybe she didn’t understand when I told her.
“Yeah,” I try for nonchalance, “it’s been such a long time since I could, so I’m really happy!” I pray she’ll catch on and remember why it’s such a big deal.
“Really? Have your feet been sore from work lately?”
My heart sinks, but I just inject some cheer into my voice, “Yeah, something li
Her hands were steady, and her heart beat slowly as she made her way through the top floor window. The fear would come later, it always did, but for now she was cool and collected. Every pale strand was in place in a braid and her gloved hands left not a single mark as she slunk down the dark halls of the museum.
She mused over the past month since she'd gotten home from her trip to Egypt. She'd only just graduated from college and felt the need to roam and expand her horizon before settling down in a career. She'd had no way of knowing just how much that trip would change her.
'Perhaps,' she thought, 'if I hadn't gone to the market that da
Sweat gathered on her palms, making them feel sticky and clammy in the early morning air. Winnie glanced around nervously, sure she was about to be caught. If her father knew where she was and what she was about to do...well he wouldn’t be very proud. Or imagine if her uncle found out! He’d magic her something awful and leave her to the ghouls!
But she had to do this. She’s known that the moment Uncle Andy told them what you needed to do to summon one of the underworld demons. It was so easy she almost didn’t believe him! Of course she would have questioned him more, but he was giving her odd looks as it was last nigh

“A what?” she questioned with a frown for her brother.
“A Cerberus! You know,” he gestured excitedly around his shoulders, “like a giant pit bull with two extra heads for chomping on the enemy! You can’t tell me that’s not a genius idea!”
Rachel deadpanned for a moment then leaned back into the comfy couch she’d been attempting to take a nap on. Setting her expression to something neutral she replied, “You’re right, I can’t. It’s a terrible idea.” Then she promptly rolled onto her side, fully intending to ignore her twin brother and go back to her nap.

"It's a goldfish." They say,
Assuring you that all is well.
"Just goldfish, swimming lazy circles."
"Don't worry so much," they laugh,
"I'm sure it's not as bad as you claim."
Though your guts wrench in agony,
Your complexion grows waxy,
Quiet sobs fill the bathroom,
Still they wave it off.
"But you don't look sick!" they assure you.
"At least it's not cancer," they comfort you.
"You could fix it if you'd just-" they advise.
"After all, it's just a goldfish.
If it was something bad
We would be able to see it!"
But they can't see it,
The piranhas circling your body,
Ready to strike at anytime.
Chapter One
He sat at the edge of the lake, careful not to dip his feet or hands in the water and waited. It never took long for her to notice him.
Then a ripple ran across the dark water and a head with sandy blonde hair plastered to her cheeks and shoulders from the water broke the surface and curious blue eyes looked him over. The siren cocked her head, “You came again.”
He flinched at the surprised tone of her voice and nodded as he drank in the sight of her. He hadn’t been able to come see her for a few days this time and no doubt she’d lost interest in seeing him again.
“I’m sorry.” He held

"Oh puh-lease, spare me the horror," said a cool metallic female voice with a slight nasal twang.
The voice was emanating from the lock that the World's Greatest Thief was trying to unlock.
"You'll never be successful," the voice nagged. "I don't know why you're even trying. Give up, go home."
"Yeah, yeah," the master thief replied, his voice nonchalant. He continued at his attempts to pick the lock, using the most elaborate tools.

"That's it?" the lock replied in a mocking tone. "
